One of my legs is longer than the other. Possible?

I have been told that one of my legs is longer than the other. Is this possible?

HQ15.png Yes, it is. In fact it is quite common, at least with people that are suffering from back pain. Leg length is something we check on every patient at absolutely every visit. If an individual is misaligned it will cause a leg length discrepancy. In my experience this is most often caused by a pelvic misalignment, but is also common with misalignments in the upper neck.

There are some patients that just developed that way, or possibly fractured one leg when they were in their growing years causing a deficiency in one leg length, but this is much more infrequent. In fact, many people have been told their leg lengths are different with no possible treatment but surgery, but they really just need realignments from their chiropractor.

Adjusting an individual will correct this inequality. If 100% correction cannot be achieved then we may recommend a heel lift on the short side to help balance your body. By correcting the imbalance, it will alleviate pain in your back, hips, knees and/or ankles, as well as prevent early degeneration of these joints.
