con_12n13.jpg

With lumbar disc syndrome, patients complain of low back and leg pain below the knee, often of sudden onset from a bending and/or twisting maneuver. There is often a past history of several bouts of low back pain that resolved. A thorough examination will help determine the significance of the disc syndrome and an MRI may be required to make a definitive diagnosis.

Symptoms:

  • Low Back Pain
  • Difficulty standing or sitting upright
  • Radiating pain in legs
  • Pain to cough or sneeze
  • Leg weakness
  • A severe car crash: loss of bowel or bladder problem
